Get to know Claire
Hello, and welcome. I'm Claire Greenhill, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) serving clients in the Albany/Capital Region from the heart of Delmar, NY. It has been an honor and privilege to serve as a mental health professional over the last 20+ years. I welcome the chance to get to know you, and to answer any questions you may have.
Personally and professionally, I am energized by many issues, including fighting for fair and equal access to mental health services, gender-based healthcare and wellness, and client self-advocacy (supporting clients as they find the confidence and learn the skills to become their own best advocates).

- Depression that's interfering with your daily life
- Adjustment disorders (professional, academic, personal)
- History of sexual abuse, childhood abuse
- Coming to terms with a recent psychiatric or medical diagnosis
- Parenting conflict and concerns
- Relationship negotiation and management
- Questioning sexual/affectional orientation
- Acute grief, loss and mourning
Additional areas of expertise include:
- Trauma-informed care/recovery from abuse and other traumatic events
- Postpartum/post-adoption depression, anxiety and hypervigilance (for birthing parent and/or partner)
- Individual and family support for transgender individuals, and anyone who may be questioning their gender identity
- Adoption planning, adjustment and loss
APPOINTMENTS & ADDITIONAL INFO
Individual, couples, family sessions
- Currently accepting clients for **WAITLIST STATUS ONLY**. Expected wait times are three months or longer. When an appointment time becomes available, clients will be contacted in the order that requests are received. Please visit the Community Info Page for additional counseling and community support resources.
- Therapy sessions typically last between 45 and 60 minutes.
- Sessions are provided in-person and via Telehealth.
- Initial 20-minute consultation appointments are available via phone or Telehealth at no charge.
Group consultation
- If you are interested in having Claire assist your team or organization in processing through unusual or acute challenges, please reach out directly for further details.
Payment and insurance
- Claire currently accepts the following insurance plans as an in-network provider:
- CDPHP (including Medicaid programs)
- NYS Empire Plan (administered by Carelon Behavioral Health)
- For all other insurance providers, you will be provided with an itemized "superbill" after each session to submit to your insurance company directly for reimbursement. Please check directly with your insurance provider for more information on out-of-network providers and reimbursement.
- Fee is $150 per session.
- Please inquire directly with any additional questions about payment or fees.
Location and parking
- The office street address is 345 Delaware Ave. in Delmar, NY.
- There are two accessible elevators in the building, including one directly next to the office (at the back of the building). Stair access is also available.
- **Please note that the parking lot is accessible from behind the building, via Hallwood Rd. ONLY.
- Entrance to the parking lot is directly next door to Brewtus Roasting (coffee shop), and their address is 20 Hallwood Dr., Delmar, NY 12054.
